Gave the 1st episodes of May I Ask One Final Thing? and A Wild Last Boss Appeared a look. One's about a lady beating the stupid out of the nobility around her; the other an Overlord-ish tale of an MMO player waking up as his character 200 years after the game's story. Both seem off to a fun start.

Towa no Yuugure is entertaining enough in its premiere, but didn't do anything to inspire confidence in its longevity. We've seen many similarly ambitious anime crash hard in the second half. I'll probably watch given how the rest of the season looks, but we'll see ⚠️

On the 5th of October 1975, the 1st episode of UFO Robot Grendizer aired. It is the 3rd entry in the Mazinger trilogy. Created by Go Nagai, the series ran for 74 episodes. It received a remake (Grendizer U) in 2024. It debuted in SRW 2 (NES) in 1991. Happy 50th Anniversary 🎉

Anime 7: To Be Hero X Rating: ★★★☆☆ This anime is incredibly animated and some of the episodes, including the climax episode, are amazing! I love the characters. But this was clearly designed with a S2 in mind, so I find it hard to recommend, it really ends with a few (well-animated) whimpers.

I bought the series one 4-episode DVD at a time for $32 CDN, which is the equivalent of like $50-60 now. Your days of downloading was probably the better bet 😜

#kashiwada_ohta ep.1 -This was entertaining. -Oota & Kashiwada's game of old maid was entertaining. -Kashiwada's deadpan reactions to Kashiwada trying to scare her was hilarious. -Oota is a total hothead & a jerk at times but this show makes him charming.

May I Ask For One Final Thing?- Yeah this ruled. Villainess shows have gotten almost as repetitive as isekai stuff, but sometimes a good hook is enough to make an old formula feel new again, and the heroine's certain got a mean right one. Favorite premiere of the season so far

The thing with Evangelion is that, as much as I loathe the way the (Western) fanbase acts like its too good for other robot shows, the series itself really IS good, and it IS influential and deserves the praise it gets. Just, the fanbase needs to be humbled.
