To be clear, the CBC needn’t do this. It would be an extension of its mission. That said, it could only help Canadian soft power to be a prominent source of trustworthy news.

While that's absolutely true, there's probably also a need for a "Voice of Canada" or "CBC World Service" or similar to broadcast accurate news into the United States, which isn't receiving much at the moment. Ideally CBC could deliver both — Canadian news domestically, then a world service.

As a veteran who deployed twice with Canadian, British, Irish, and Mexican-American troops, I will never forgive them betraying you. Canadian snipers fought and died in Afghanistan for US. Every attack on Canada is an attack on us all. I will still die for my battle buddies. Vive Le Canada! 🇨🇦
