Posts about sewage contamination and water company practices: petition calling to “Hold a referendum to bring the water industry into public ownership” (petition.parliament.uk/petitions/76...), complaints about sewage discharge and rising bills (United Utilities), calls for fines to be taken as water company shares, and mentions of dividends and CEO bonuses.

Wastewater treatment replaced systems like these when John Snow proved the link between them and cholera clusters in 1854.
Everyone's is robbed. United Utilities doing the same. Raised customers bills by over 50% to pay for the poor infrastructure upgrades that led to so much sewerage discharge into waterways. No responsibility to customers or the environment; used profits to pay out dividends and CEO bonuses.
Good riddance then to the bloke who “led” this failed water company, after he finally resigned. #southeastwater had the nerve to put this card in with my latest bill which has skyrocketed to over £350. All this work should have been done years ago instead of filling the pockets of shareholders.
