Posts criticize the NIH director for "espousing populism over expertise" in funding priorities, referencing "ivermectin as cancer therapy" and asking how to convince that "many people take mRNA seriously." Comments link "populism" to "algorithmic social media" and "misinformation" spreading rapidly.

"Populism" being shorthand for algorithmic social media, which is spreading misinformation at the speed of light. We opened the door to this pathology, and now it's destroying us.

how do we convince him that many people take mRNA seriously
"This is incredible. Also. Fuck RFK Jr."
Remember RFKJr cut $500M in mRNA research. The death of every person from here forward, from a condition or disease that mRNA was being used to address--100% lay the blame at the MAGA/GOP feet of shame. Their idiotic ideals matter more than human lives. That's a cult, pure and simple. Prove me wrong
Lost the cousin who was the closest I'll ever have to a big brother to pancreatic cancer a few years back. He'd done the Boston Marathon just before diagnosis. When I initially heard that RFKjr was going to cancel all current MRNA vaccine work, I was stunned and appalled. I now at least have hope.
Hearing people dunking on mRNA vaccines when you're a biology wonk just sounds weird. I know some people in oil and gas do it, and that would be like "blowout preventers actually make a well more dangerous" or "wearing protective gear at a sour well weakens your immune system, actually".
