Negative opinions about Beshear: commenters say "really fucking hating Beshear," claim he and "a lot of other dems — are getting bad advice from bad people," and state "Beshear should stay in Kentucky" / next Dem nominee should avoid the state.

I hear what you’re saying and agree. What Beshear is telling democrats who lose all the goddamn time is you don’t have to bite on every micro aggression park demonstration that comes along. It opens the door to endless clips of them hemming and hawing when the Sunday shows dissects them for sport
You know what, it's unfair for me to call Beshear soft. He has walked the walk, vetoed anti-trans legislation in KENTUCKY, and defended it without equivocation. That's great! I should say IN THIS INSTANCE, he is failing rhetorically and helping the right politically by unnecessarily punching left.
Beshear thinks he can alienate the left of the Democratic Party and make it up with Centrist and Republican votes. In Kentucky that is probably true. But, nationwide it lowers democratic voter turnout like 2024 We can't afford to go after voters. Even if we can and should call candidates to task.
"I think if Beshear wants to say stuff like this he should be obligated to follow it up with an example of literally any even vaguely prominent Democrat using that term."
So fucking tired of everyone trying to awkwardly jerry-rig their own couture Sister Souljah moment, it’s so transparent and embarrassing.
Part of the issue that he has is that he has dealt with Republican supermajorities in the legislature for the entirety of his time as governor so the accomplishments that he can hang his hat on are things like legalized sports gambling, medical marijuana pilot, and vetoing some bills
I wonder if he just absorbs it ambiently from there? I confess I have no idea what Kentucky is like but I presume it's more conservative and that means just more Fox News stuff percolating, so he may think this is how he adjusts to the national stage for that reason. I dunno though!
A shame. I used to think Beshear had potential. Now he’s outed himself as just another left-punching centrist asshat who gins up a phrase no one has ever said before and uses it as a straw man to undermine compassion, while ignoring that the real language of the left is “FUCK ICE” & “IMPEACH TRUMP.”
i don't even think beshear is a bad governor, a bad person, or a bad politician, but i do think he — and a lot of other dems — are getting bad advice from bad people. portland would be ground-zero for hearing this kind of thing, and we just don't, most of the time, and never from electeds.
