A brief trip to Sunderland and a pint of Allendale Anvil in the fantastic Ship Isis. It may not be as big a drinking destination as Newcastle, but there are some great pubs here. #bskybeer

Where back-handed compliments meet far-right-rhetoric debunking. (Capel St's 18th and 19th century buildings, pedestrianised road with planting, and escaped tables & chairs from the Black Sheep pub looking particularly well under a sky almost as blue as the pub's paint.)

Did you know? Historically, some pubs in the UK collected the "slops" or overflow beer from drip trays and resold them, a practice that was once quite common. 🤢

Against my expectations I had another full-time work week this week so I'm rewarding myself again at the same pub for my weekly beer. My weekly beer is relaxing at home too, but I've grown to enjoy the vibe of actually just sitting down and relaxing at a third space instead.

Yeah. There seems to be pattern also of lads getting back into it during lockdown and not being able to stop.
