So many lovely pensioners with no criminal record being criminalised yet the proscription of Palestine action has been ruled unlawful by the high court! I’m incredibly proud of all those arrested & very ashamed of our criminal government 🤬

The ban on Palestine Action, labelling it a terror group, was ruled unlawful by the High Court. Why are the police choosing to uphold an unlawful proscription by arresting demonstrators? Sounds like political policing.

Amazingly the police explained the law, they explained how the courts work and the process and a bunch of people who have so far achieved nothing for Palestine went and tried to get arrested - who's wasting the time here?

I blame both. At the time this action was announced, the Met said it wouldn't arrest sign-holders; they then changed this. They made an operational decision to prioritise arresting entirely peaceful (mostly)pensioners over upholding other aspects of the law by diverting huge resources into this job.

That's a good point. I'll just hop on a plane to Gaza. Or maybe I could try protesting in Israel and get locked up there?

And why are they protesting in London? It would be appropriate either in Gaza or in Tel Aviv. Where it is happening directly. Why are they "looking for a wallet not where they lost it, but where there is light?"

The only time I’ve ever seen police out of their cars, in my home city in the last two years, is when around 50 were standing outside Barclays Bank as they were worried protestors were going to attack it due to its links with Israel. Entirely peaceful protest BTW.
