Posts discuss Kanye West being banned from the UK and Wireless festival cancellation over reported support for "Hitler and Nazis." Common phrases: "forgiveness is a 'lost virtue'", "nasty little bigot", "free speech issue", and that his apology emerged to "do the gig/earn the money."

(just looking at it from a purely capitalist viewpoint there, putting aside my disgust that they'd platform someone who's said and done what Kanye has)
"A lot has bothered me about the reporting of the Kanye West banned. Firstly how it has been framed as all about it the Jewish community - but we should all be against Nazism! This country fought Nazis. Songs called Heil Hitler should not just be for the Jewish community to object to. And secondly…"
Other groups targeted in the holocaust may have objected too, but the press don't tend to give those voices space, nor do politicians. Jewish people have recently been deliberately targeted, so it's natural I think that their wellbeing is highlighted at this time.
“his presence in the U.K. would not be conducive to the public good. Organizers subsequently canceled the entire festival, which had already been dropped by Pepsi, its principal sponsor, two days earlier." So antisemitism doesn't sell. That's good! #FCKNZS www.nytimes.com/2026/04/07/w...
I'd be more inclined to agree with this if any sort of solution had been found before now, and if he'd issued a statement yesterday to try to allay the fear most of us felt yesterday (and it was fear) and he did not, but was able to address an issue with Kanye West instead. Priorities?
The Jew has banned Kanye for being anti sceptic. They're not beating the allegations. https://youtu.be/ib_lVNaoPPU?si=RL_kp_yGggJySuKK

Please consider how you look criticising the government for banning a singer who says Nazis are cool, released a pro-Nazi song called 'Heil Hitler' and sells Nazi t-shirts. "But they should be condemning the US, banning them from using our air bases" - Yes! But it's not either/or! They can do both!

It’s regrettable that his apology only emerged because he wanted to do the gig/earn the money.

It's not about freedom of speech. He can still say whatever he likes, and has a big platform from which he will doubtless do so. But he wanted to stir up trouble here and we don't have to allow that.

Setup, showing off power, scaring away other artists from talking openly with distaste I figure

Yet to find out of one of those stakeholders was Labour Controlled Haringey Council (technically their landlord given the Park Venue). If they knew when they agreed a five year extension days ago it’s big news.
"It’s disturbing to see so many people and celebrities support a Ye comeback. In addition to 15+ years of antisemitism, white supremacy, and alleged sexual violence, Ye has become a cultural icon for far-right influence. And his “apology” doesn’t hold up to scrutiny. spitfirenews.com/p/ye-s-bigot..."
It’s bonkers. He’s a loser. Selling out shows in LA tho….smh

In case anyone is wondering how white supremacy is fairing today: Ye is banned from the UK but Stephen Miller et al are welcome & Donald Trump is not only welcome- but will be welcoming the King of England…in 2 weeks when he may also be attempting to decimate “a whole (brown) civilization.”
