Posts claim the U.S. military following this president's orders could lead to war crimes, repeating: "If the United State Military follows any orders by this president that lead to war crimes then we really need to realize this country has gone total criminal and all of our rights are up for grabs." Other lines: "They have already done that. Committing war crimes doesn't seem like a big concern for them" and "Do you not see the war crimes being committed every day?"

Nixon refused to agree to ratification to the Geneva Convection protocols l and ll saying they favoured terrorist groups and limited military operations. Both Bush and Trump have broken Convection rules.
Running out of options unless more elected folks suddenly grow a spine. I honestly don’t believe most in the military would support any of what’s going on above them outside of fulfilling direct orders. But yeah, it would take many brave souls if shit gets worse, if that’s even possible.

It’s a dictatorship or a monarchy if you prefer - one senile old man making all the decisions and everyone else blindly following. Nobody even trying to hold him accountable - the dems pretending they can do nothing because they don’t have control, the GOP in control, just not doing anything.
"The Supreme Court determined (wrongly) the President has immunity for his actions. This does not absolve military of obligation to refuse unlawful orders. Customary International Law under the Geneva Convention requires all to make distinctions between civil and military targets. Tonight is a test."
crucially they decided the president has immunity for official acts, which any rational opposition would read as giving them legal daylight to press the point of official vs. personal, and also to test the whole ruling and how it could possibly hold up within the rest of the legal system

Do you not see the war crimes being committed every day?

If you think this ends with removing trump you’re doubly naive. We are all counting on you Americans to act, and not stop acting with Trump. Trump is a symptom of American fascism, not the root of it bsky.app/profile/tast...
If he honored his Oath he would refuse the Unlawful Orders that placed him in harm’s way. The senior military leadership of the US has been failing miserably when it comes to defending the US from all enemies foreign and DOMESTIC. These are career military officers and they know better

They have already done that. Committing war crimes doesn't seem like a big concern for them
the military will carry out any order trump gives them. they are not these righteous, patriotic soldiers. they are magats through and through and would do anything to appease dear leader. no one should fantasize that the military will refuse an illegal order. they will fulfill it with violent lust
A lot of soldiers refused orders during the Vietnam war and ended up in LBJ military jail. www.zinnedproject.org/news/tdih/pr...
I've known too many people in the US military to believe any of them will refuse orders from the commander in chief regardless of the consequences None of them signed up to keep people alive, but maybe my sample size is too small to make such an extrapolation, maybe you know a 100 or so with souls
Is there anyone left in the chain of command in our military with the balls to stand up and say no? How can anyone be worried about their 'career' when their 'career' is leading them down the rabbit hole to genocide? trump is clearly leaning towards using OUR weapons against a civilian population
