I found this reported piece at the March 9. 1970 Automotive News at p. 2. I am attorney and I don’t get it. I’m thick, however. Graduated in top 95% of my class. Someone explain this? A crime? I am guessing it’s related to government revenue agreements. Like not remitting cigarette taxes.

American Cars? They're all stupidly big, heavy and impractical. But Renault is doing exactly that for a few years now, with huge success. All these small, cheap + economical models from the 70ies. There are no cool American cars I can think of. They're all just: "look, I don't care about gas prices"

Quick now. Name one Buick that they currently sell? Thought so. GM got it right in 1970. Rockford didn’t drive a Buick. A Rondevous or whatever the hell they sell, didn’t create a diversion for running beer across the country. Automotive News, March 30, 1970 at p. 51.

Huh. Maybe it was like... Hyundai in the 1990s when they were a rightful mess and a half, and fixed it and to prove it, did the best in class warranties, because seriously, not a damn thing has ever even beeped at me funny (except user error).
