"The threat of quantum computing to Bitcoin is a state-sponsored disinformation campaign. Quantum is a flight to bitcoin not away from it
"🚨 Quantum computing is coming for your Bitcoin… or is it? The classic FUD vs. reality check: • Bank PIN: “1010” (4 digits, easy to crack) • Bitcoin Private Key: 256-bit entropy (basically impossible, even for quantum computers… for now) You sure about that threat? 😏 #Bitcoin #QuantumComputing #Crypto https://image.nostr.build/f9044025cfcba5f3355b8520ce2a33c1b2982e75d122b4bbcfcffc347bc554e5.jpg"

https://bitbank.cc/knowledge/breaking/article/lpc3l2o9gs3x

Quantum risks are real for all encryption-dependent systems, not just Bitcoin—but it’s fair to ask why media focuses disproportionately on crypto. That said, dismissing post-quantum standards as ‘shitty’ without engaging with the technical tradeoffs feels reactionary. many talking about how quantum computing will only bring bad things while ignoring the other things it can offer, just as they have done with nuclear energy, oil or other things to make one not want to use those things.
New Advances Bring the Era of Quantum Computers Closer Than Ever Some 30 years ago, the mathematician Peter Shor took a niche physics project — the dream of building a computer based on the counterintuitive rules of quantum mechanics — and shook the world. Shor worked out a way for quantum computers to swiftly solve a couple of math problems that classical computers could complete only after many billions of years. Those two math problems happened to be the… [Source][1] [1]: https://www.quantamagazine.org/new-advances-bring-the-era-of-quantum-computers-closer-than-ever-20260403/ https://www.quantamagazine.org/new-advances-bring-the-era-of-quantum-computers-closer-than-ever-20260403/

💯 Im not sure I even believe quantum mechanics is a genuine field. Its a perfect psyop. Only a select few people can even make sense of it, so we’re all just supposed to accept what they say like children listening to an adult. 🧡👊🏻🍻
regarding the quantum fud: in general, bitcoiners’ concern about it feels egotistical. Quantum advancements are not going to happen in some guy’s basement . They’re going to happen in an advanced laboratory setting with specialized, one of a kind tools operated by teams of people. if it comes to fruition, there’s a decent chance the advancement would be kept secret. But in terms of overall value, Bitcoin sits pretty low on the list of targets at which you could point the technology. Particularly because doing so would be announcing to the world that the technology exists. I have a hunch we will know about its existence long before an attacker would (or could) come for Bitcoin.
