No, many people believe they could change Harris’s mind on immigration and Gaza. But democrats still voted to fund ICE and send the bombs to murder starving children. What you lack is the imagination that we could build a a better world. Mamdani won not in spite of his anti-Genocide, but due to it.
Exactly what government is for, supposed to be. Hoping Mamdani is the spark which lights the fire for progressivism - a Social Democracy, that ensures dignity, housing, healthcare & decency. A ripple which brings on a big, blue wave of true progressives, enacting progressive policy.
Mamdani has the opportunity to make the greatest city in the world unbeatable. 100 days in he is heading in the right direction. It’s already affected me personally somewhat unexpectedly. It was still a pleasant surprise. This kind of politics is how you win elections. Just help people.
