Posts compare taxes to being a “slave for the state,” cite high effective tax rates (~70%), California cost of living and sales tax, mention job scarcity and freelancing as alternatives, reference Australia, ‘plandemic,’ bitcoin, and include a linked video.

one of my current aspirations is to find other sane people who have grasped and understood the imperative nature of the need to relocate to high ground in preparation for a coming global disaster, a cyclic, externally driven event that marks our planet with traces dating to ~6000 and ~12000 year cycles found in especially volcanic areas and lakes. Ben Davidson calls this a "survival tribe" and i'm most definitely recruiting for my group who will build skills, tools and materials to ultimately relocate to a high altitude location in the carpathian mountain range and continue to build preparations... building a library of educational and technical materials, finding among that business opportunities and furthering the cause. humans can't survive alone, so it's an open invitation, if you understand and genuinely want to get along with the people around you. i've spent so much time in cult-like situations and since january 2022 i have been successfully largely excluding this from my daily life, and i'm very keen on teaching others to understand and shun this sadly all to common psychotic behaviour of a small segment of the population, who are really tips of the tentacles of the global bankster/royalty cartels. cut those people out of your life, and things progress so much faster without the drag they put on you. the worst is the racketeers in government but the intimacy of these petty tyrants can be both more harmful and lethal, in the longer arc. ultimately, this is a huge opportunity to be part of a massive change in the composition of the human race, one that we have no control over, but if we survive, our legacy will be in building resilient communities that resist re-infiltration of psychos and hardens us against their influence. it's a war, and the bad guys only win if we don't focus and sharpen and very carefully grow our network to be resistant.

CA is the future of the world if you understand what I mean i.e. high taxes, high cost of living and low service delivery. Of course not every part of the world will follow this model, but most of them will end up there due to today's policies. I have always wondered why you get to be taxed when living abroad, especially if you are also paying taxes in your host country! It's just downright nuts and daylight robbery! Taxes are there to remind the serfs that they are living in a mafia state

yeah, people don't realise how close to totalitarian socialism most first world countries are. i favor locating myself around second world countries because they have usually got systemic corruption but outward aspirations of civility, and a cultural meme about dodging the man, especially where they used to be inside a totalitarian system. the government's enforcement systems are weakened by that corruption, and discovering you is even less likely, likewise, living in small towns and villages help further with that because especially farmers are sympathetic with dodging taxes wherever possible, as well as easily persuaded to do p2p deals with nobody else involved. life is different and in some ways harder but it's more of a challlenge for me to obey in a patently unfair situation than to struggle and master myself and skills required to increase my independence and freedom.

First of all let me start off by saying that You're definitely the real man of steel brother! 👏👏👏 That was deeply moving and at the same time very inspiring story of how not matter how many lemons life threw at you, you kept making lemonade to the best of your ability. Thank you for sharing this and definitely explains the nerves of steel that come across your responses and posts. I am glad to hear that everything worked out in the end after all that drama, and I pray that you eventually buy the farm and settle there away from the hustle and bustle of the city. You are a hero in my book and I hope one day our paths cross in meatspace

What a trip! I could tell you were hard core, and this explains (at least partly) why. Props to you for surviving, fighting, and thriving.

i got sick to death of living in the city and started staying at my sister's place in a small town in the mountains west of the gold coast. i pivoted slightly to add general laboring (gardening, cleaning) when i got up there but due to the outrageous cost of mandatory insurance and registration of my piddly 50cc motorcycle, and trying to maintain my relations with customers 200km away they stole my bike on two occasions, and without that, my new customer base in the country town was not enough and not long after, i met a woman on facebook, cooked up a plan to get the money to go to the UK to be with her, by exploiting taxation systems to get some of my stolen potential back to give me a chance to do something else. the woman was crazy, and the plans we made totally didn't pan out and i fled again, this time to Bulgaria, where i tried getting a regular job - call center operator, which first go around 10 applications 2 weeks and i had income again. unfortunately the supervisor in my section was a psychotic albanian cow who eventually i blew up at after doing 6 shifts in a row, looking for more income (big mistake under bulgarian employment law, they just ride you and don't pay you any extra for hours beyond the contract), swore at her as she was demanding me come into work to make 7 days running and i was exhausted. my failed darkweb dealing business was what led to me doing that, and then desperate to get back into the black, so i could pay my fucking rent, i ended up being arrested violently, spent a year in prison, and the next 4 years mostly homeless, first in amsterdam, and then after i got sick to death of the total lack of upward mobility from homeless in the netherlands, in sofia, and got some more tech support work at a remote app provider, which i made the same mistake again on working night shifts, and in the meantime, cryptokitties hack and me trying to do leveraged trading on bitcoin on bitfinex, i got wiped out. back to amsterdam, where i got into steemit blockchain forum, partnered up with a crazy go dev - where i first finally got experience with it after hearing about it in 2013, and from there, in 2017 a montenegrin friend knew a guy in novi sad who wanted a go dev to build a bitcoin fork called parallelcoin, an upgrade of its protocol and software from the barely changed original bitcoin code, but in Go, and after 2 years working on that, i was very confident in my ability to code and developed a lot of architecting and cryptography/statistics coding. after that, i eventually landed jobs working remote with shitcoin projects late 2021, then 5 months after that all went to shit (because shitcoin dev shops are cults, especially dusk.network) and i discovered concurrently that the assholes i was staying with were using manipulation tricks on me to make me feel obligated to pay more than my share of the bills with this new income, again i disappeared from that scene (i've been a refugee from bullshit for too long) and that led me to an internship developing indranet, and after that was finished, i managed to get a nostr-related job building a relay with a shitcoin project that wasn't assholes, worked that for 2 years, and then their runway ran out, i had been unable to get repeat business from any of the contracts i worked on, i found plebeian.market and that's where i am now. since adopting agentic coding tools, my output has dramatically increased in both volume and quality, and even if things get rough and i have to branch out to elsewhere, i have everything i need to get bigger income at a fiat mine, if i really must, i'm stacking hard, so i have breathing room if anything goes wrong. anyway, a lot of this is somewhat orthogonal to the topic but the very subject of the aggressive theft of the fruit of my labors, as well as the theft of my productive potential by labor market price controls (why i left australia) was a recurring theme and why i am so glad to be working at what i'm working at now. i have aspirations to finally own my own property, get into farming and all kinds of low tech production, and i'm near the location i am going to go try and do that, and for now, my goal is to put the pedal to the metal on nostr technology, invent new things, and get the worst missing things from nostr client/protocol development to become normalised (i was definitely involved in getting nip-42 support more widespread). i want to make this tech so smart and so simple to use that businesses adopt it as a way to save on costs and boost their reach. the work never ends, but at least i get to keep all of it except for EU VAT 20%. no fucking way i'm dealing with taxation or accountants ever again, after my experiences with the bulgarian and serbian extortion racketeers. technically, not paying taxes is not a criminal offense, even if sometimes they make laws to claim it is, under almost all national constitutions this trust violation of the "general fund" of governments is in contravention of the actual word of the law, they just presume you into it. you have to come forward and confess to get tangled in it. DO NOT REGISTER CORPORATIONS OR WASTE YOUR TIME WITH ACCOUNTANTS. they don't have the resources to do other than probabalistic, exemplary punishment. you are less likely to get caught earning money without paying taxes, than getting caught selling drugs, and the benefits are greater, the risk much lower. live free or die.

United States citizenship is free range slavery, we are one of two countries in the entire world that still tax their citizens living abroad. Exit tax on unrealized gains if you want to give up citizenship. Even those people who aren't paying income tax are still taxed through inflation, sales tax, DMV fees, etc. California is an extreme version but it's still slavery all around. Especially since the majority of the taxes don't actually benefit taxpayers in any way.

Gosh that's indeed brutal! To think that once upon a time I considered moving down under 😅 The plandemic jolted that idea out of my head almost immediately after seeing how dystopian it became overnight. Did you ever manage to secure the job you wanted or you carried on freelancing

Which means if you earn a million dollars in Cali, you effectively work to have most of your paycheck taken from you by the mafia.

this calculation omits the tax on sales. pretty sure it's more like 70% effective tax rate. it was already over 70% in australia 15 years ago. it wasn't for nothing that i was attracted to bitcoin and fled that shithole counttry. the worst part was how they used all that money to manipulate the labor market such that i couldn't even get an entry level position. 100 competitors for a burger flipping job, nobody without experience could get into it. that's also why i started my career in tech as a freelance troubleshooter. it was the only way for me to get EXPERIENCE. that was the foundation that i built on top of when i started doing devops and coding in 2016
