My mother used to sing that to myself, my brother and sisters as a night-time lullaby. Every time I hear that song, I tear up. And they had Kingston Trio records, too.

Swear to god man has not aged a day since I started to listen to them back in ‘05 🤣

their song changes was one of the first songs i liked that i found on my own as a kid. never really kept up with them, but was sad when i heard they were maga-ey. still though, they've got a weird special place for me, and that sucks he was so young :(

I think i dismissed Rise when I was younger (I didn't have a fav back then) bit Rise has grown on me personality wise, idk exactly why

I inherited that from my dad, along with Neil Young (1969) and Lighthouse (1969). My dad hung out in the Toronto music scene in the late 60s. I think it was for the cannabis more then the music. 🤣

Yeah, fresh is a good word for it. It didn’t feel like Coroner just picked up where they left off, which would have been totally great since Coroner fucking ripped, but they grew and evolved in some pretty awesome ways. I love that album so much.

Last time I saw ‘em play in Glasgow, a frightening 15 years ago, Mick Jones was sporting a huge black eye after going out drinking with some of the locals. He got really pissed, tripped up and battered his face off the kerb 🙄🤣

Music is very subjective (so you might hate them) but I’m a big fan of Alabama 3! They also go by A3 in the US.

I did not enjoy their first 4 albums, so I am not going to revisit them. For some reason, I thought everyone disliked their final album (Say You Will) but turns out it was actually Time that everyone dislikes (and I agree, aside from Christine's songs, it's not a good album imo).

It's the only gig I've ever been to that was like it Andrew. My aging memory tells me that Strummer & someone else arrested after gig. Bouncers were instigators & misjudged the reaction. One memory is the balcony moving up and down under our feet. 🙈

Yeah big favourites. Lucky enough to see them several times. Including some of their more extreme theatrical shows. There was one that involved a goose lamp & hitting an oven with hammers. And one that was so loud you couldn't tell one song from another!!

Absolutely love Wire. Saw them live once.

This is one of my favorite Led Zeppelin songs. It must have been great hearing this for the first time at 12. Robert Plant's vocals are awesome, and so is the tune.🫶

I saw them in concert once in 2000 with a bunch of college buddies. It was a great show.

I had entirely forgotten about Macklemore and Ryan Lewis.

Remember having it on tape in my MK1 Capri. Played it a lot back then. The first time of hearing it and working out the lyrics and their meaning was quite an eye opener.

I remember even as a kid being like "Damn this song is catchy as hell and it's vaguely radical shaped but these lyrics are uhhh questionable"

The thing that has always amused me about that song is that Janis also drove a Porsche.

Clem Snide is a interesting one. I loved their debut. Bought their next 2-3 CDs hoping they'd capture the magic of You Were A Diamond again and was mildly disappointed each time. It's hard to get into their other releases when I loved the first one so much

ughhh i gave it an honest shot in ~2018 or whatever, and i'm sure there're things i've forgotten but MAN they loved the r slur. disappointing that their shortcomings are so easily corrected by giving half a shit about their purported beat but maybe i misunderstood maybe they have no stance lol

I've heard the Wonder of you murdered more time's than I care mention By Turns and Karaoke at various Working mens clubs in the 90s I used to be concert chair at one club and you could guarantee you'd get turns finishing the night with it

There was a top 20 that played on Sunday nights that I'd discovered in'63 and I'd turn it way down low, I could barely hear it, and under the bed covers but my dad would always know, I never knew how he'd know. 🙈

Solid picks, I personally put 3D Country over Getting Killed, but I think it comes from seeing them in concert a few years ago. I gotta make time to see them again
