Patriotism and Athletes

Thank goodness people have the courage to voice their displeasure at country representatives who are terrorizing much of the globe. It’s easy to see why you’re on so many block lists.

I don’t think it makes things better at all. I was thinking about the athletes and how hard they worked for years to be there. I do hope that they can enjoy the moments they worked so hard for.

I hope the crowds give the USA athletes the support they deserve! They should not be tarnished with actions of despotic leader like Trump! Come on team USA! Obviously come on team GB first 😉

It's not as if they're competing for the honour of their country. They're competing for money. These guys are paid performers. The games is their audition. The better they perform here, the better the product endorsement deals.

controlled free speech? free speech is not controlled or controllable. They taught their voters to not believe the evident facts.

I am so conflicted about these games Mrs Betty Bowers. On one hand the athletes are innocent and have worked so hard to get here and yet on the other, I am terribly ashamed of my country and the atrocities they are committing. I find it hard to watch with the same enjoyment as in past years.

Shame on everyone who ruined even one athlete’s spotlight moment. I know personally how hard these youngsters train. The work, blood sweat and tears, the dedication for just that one moment in time. Shame on everyone who participated in their selfishness.

Why are you watching. It's in the US, you shouldn't be supporting it at all. We're picking the brains of citizens off the streets and these dumb ass athletes think they are going to be safe. It's a matter of time before one gets picked up by a patrol.

I think that even stations like Fox can get in big trouble if they don't play the exact sports clip unaltered.

Boycott the rest of the broadcast of the Olympics.

Why? You are blaming a bunch of very young athletes mostly competing in sports that don’t even pay a living wage for Trump being a monster? Lots of better ways to protest.

The decent US athletes already know this. They understand and also are just as angry at US government. As shown in their interviews and IG posts. They dont blame anyone but the Trump administration. Our second biggest delegation is from MN, the State under direct siege right now.
