Moved to a different county about 12 years ago.When I first got here most of offices there were no democrats running. It has improved some but barely.
The DNC also neglected state and lical races, much to the disappointment of those candidates. It only mattered when they got "nationalized" for some reason. Also related to this is how if state/local office holders do get national attention, they're tapped to run for executive office 1/2
You had guardrails, took Trump his first term to figure out how to remove them & remove those in his way. Yes, fix that. Were warned about this, with receipts. He was involved in Jan 6 & convicted of felonies. Yet got re-elected. Americans need to address how & why enough Americans did that.

The real local and state collapse didn’t even happen until 2008-2012. Pretty bewildering how quickly it went south
