Think he's been booted to clear the decks. It might help us psychologically reset, but he's not entirely to blame. #lfc
Slot will have had some input — after all, as head coach he’s essentially Briggs’ line manager — but actual hiring/firing decisions don’t sit with him. And it’s not a PR win — at least not yet — and things might well get worse as I doubt spreading responsibility across everyone else is great!
Pretty sure they brought in someone before or shortly after the start of the season to do, if not exactly Briggs’ original role then something so similar as to make a return impractical/impossible

If the set piece coach is responsible for designing and play calling our attacking set plays then I think there is a case to sack him. There is no excuse for us to be 18th for attacking set play XG when we have the highest team aerial win% in the PL. We have half the attacking set play xg of United
Firing a coach is never nice. It is likely that he was not the only reason for Liverpool being so bad at set pieces. But it was his main job, and he clearly was not able to do what was asked of him. We can hope now the players respond and luck turns in our favor a little bit too. It’s essential.
