I know people usually use Lovecraft, Card or Dahl as a comparison to Rowling but Blyton is a good comparison as well, you can poke all sorts of racial and gender stuff in the work but it's ultimately harmless cause the creator was harmless. UNLIKE Harry Potter.
Thing is, had Blyton in her lifetime openly supported ideals and use sales of her books to support them, even now, decades after death, she would be very controversial. But other writers and creators have expanded on those works to great effect, nothing really controversial anymore.
